Friendster Nostalgic Story

But you know what, maybe, just maybe, my love for tinkering with a site started way back 2004. I’m not sure if Friendster and MySpace days count as my tiny sprinkle and small intro of web design experience.

(though I wasn’t much of a MySpace person), but here’s a short nostalgic story. Maybe someone from my generation reading this can probably relate (ˆˆ). Back then (2002 or 2003), Friendster started and became the Mainstream of Social Media (before MySpace and Facebook). Then, in 2004, it leveled up. We could start personalizing and designing our background profile with all kinds of stuff like anime characters, nature, celebs, abstracts, movies, animations, etc. We can actually set and design how we like it, absolute, fixed, scrolling, and animated backgrounds. I know it wasn’t a professional web design, but I liked designing my Friendster with flying fairies, GIFs, music players, changing fonts, cursor style, and my most fave adding animated, twinkling, sparkling, glittering stars on my profile background. I did that by using some code generators, then copying and pasting some basic HTML and CSS code snippets.  But I can’t recall much anymore, that was about 20 years ago (ˆˆ) (ˆˆ). Okay, end of the short story (✿˃˂). I think I still have my code saved somewhere. I will try to find them if I can, and if those codes and site resources are still running and supported. I hope I can relive even a portion of that old design and remember those fun moments of coding snippets back then. If ever, I’ll upload it here.
