Biiman Sports January 2024 – April 2025
Hi everyone! In this blog, I just wanna share our kids’ story and experience with Biima Sports.
Our kids have always been full of energy. They’re quite athletic. They love running, jumping and playing different kinds of sports. We thought engaging them in different kinds of activities and sports would make them have fun and busy and also a good way of cutting their phone screen time. On weekdays, we usually didn’t let them use their mobile phone. On weekends, we let them use it. But since they had some activities on weekends, it helped a lot to lessen their screen time.
It’s also a nice way to see which sports they enjoyed the most, or which sports they naturally did well.
We were going to change their sports activity. Although we saw their strong interest in baseball, soccer and swimming. We wanted to help them explore more about themselves, what they liked, had fun and enjoyed the most.
In December 2023, my husband found a nice kids’ sports school called Biima Sports.
Biima Sports is a comprehensive kids’ Sports School. It showed the way of playing and learning through different kinds of sports training.
In January 2024, we started something new with our kids, we enrolled them at Biima Sports. It was nice that Seichi and Seishin had some sports activity every weekend and it became part of our weekend routine. Seichi and Seishin’s schedule was every Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00 am, the most convenient for us.(For more info here’s the Biima Sports official website).
We signed them up so that our kids got to try many sports like baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, sprinting, and jump rope (nawa tobi). We bought the Biima Sports uniform (cold and warm season) and equipment for each program, like a baseball bat, a tennis racket, a basketball and a jump rope. If ever we forgot the equipment for training, they had extra equipment to lend during their sessions. For sports goods we bought them on Amazon and Rakuten because we didn’t notice that they offer full sets of uniforms and equipment on their website. Looking back, it would have been easier to order directly from their site, but we’re happy with what we got. You can find the complete original sports goods set on Biima Sports’ website. :). Our kids absolutely love their Biima Sports uniforms, the cute logo and font, they didn’t even wanted to take them off even after training. As for their equipment, we can actually use it at the parks when they play. 🙂
Seichi was turning 9 years old, so he went to the Biima Sports Advance course and Seishin just turned 6 years old, he went to the regular or basic Biima Sports course. I’m glad they had enthusiastic training coaches, so we noticed that our kids were also energetic because the coach brought a huge amount of energy into the training. I think it also impacted their mood, gave encouragement and energy as well. We also, as parents, while watching them, when the coach was energetic, I think the energy resonated with us as well, even if we were just watching and waiting 🙂 :).
Every 2 months, the program changed. So our kids got to try something new. At the end of the month, they had a sports activity test. During the test, sometimes we parents also participate in setting timers, counting and marking our kids’ results.
What we loved about Biima isn’t just physical activity and play. It’s seeing our kids grow, have fun and try new things. Biima organizes classes by age rather than skill level, While some of the activities felt easier for certain kids, probably because the class included a wide age range and kids with different levels of experience. Which is totally understandable. Since the kids try all sorts of sports, it would be tricky to measure everyone’s abilities for each activity. Like for example Seishin, he’s still starting to learn to use the jump rope. I’ve seen kids younger than him that’s really good with jump rope and vice versa there are some sports where Seishin has more skills than some older kids. I think it’s it’s great because it gives every kid a fun challenge and motivates them to keep moving.
While we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our children’s journey with Biima Sports, I think one activity I’ve wished to see included is swimming. It’s such a vital skill and a fun way to stay active. However, I understand that adding swimming classes might be challenging. Perhaps it’s due to the need for specialized facilities and instructors, or maybe space constraints at some locations. Regardless, we truly appreciate the diverse sports programs Biima offers, and we’re grateful for the positive experiences our kids have had and when I saw that our kids had so much fun in their training with other kids and it was nice to watch. It also helped our kids build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop a healthy mind and body. Our kids always enjoyed participating in different kinds of sports and community activities, but they’re still little shy when it comes to conversations, so I’m glad that they were able to meet new kids, make friends and play together.
Biima Sports held classes in different types of places, too. Usually, it was an open futsal court in the park, a futsal court on the building rooftops, or we even had it in an indoor facility. We changed courts when the kids missed their training. They offered make-up classes the following week on Saturday afternoon or Sunday.
But Seichi and Seishin loved the Hachioji Biima Venue at the Fujinomori Football Park (home branch and nearest in our area). It’s a wide open area, an open field surrounded by nature and a park, so a lot of people were strolling around the area, doing some sports activities, some groups were also playing some soccer games on the next court, some families with their kids were playing to the next park and more. I think they liked it when it was an open area rather than a covered court and indoors. The outdoor atmosphere and ambiance, air, trees around and sunlight gave them more energy, freedom to move while having their training. Parents can bring their mats or foldable chairs inside the futsal court to sit on the side to watch and wait for their kids. In other futsal courts, we can wait outside the futsal court and wait in the seats provided, depending on the venue. Everyone around them is active and having fun. During the summer season, when
We had to finish in April 2025 because kids would like to try more advanced sports training, like baseball, soccer, or swimming. Like they previously had.
A few weeks before our kids finished their Biima sports journey, Seishin’s coach was leaving Biima. She gave the kids a handwritten note and a cute, handmade keychain as a parting gift. She was such a kind and thoughtful coach, it felt really special to receive something made for all the kids as a keepsake. Seichi’s coach was also very energetic and lively. Kids had a photo together with their coach to capture a memory of their Biima Sports days. A little treasure for the kids to look back on someday.
Update: In June, we received a Biima certificate and official Biima keychain. It was such a thoughtful gesture from Biima Sports, showing how much they care about their students and celebrating their journey in sports. Seichi even proudly hung his keychain on his randoseru. A small reminder of all the fun and learning he experienced at Biima Sports. 🙂
Sometimes they also miss playing at Biima Sport. But we’re glad our kids joined Biima Sports. It’s more than just a sports school. It’s been a sports school for our kids to learn, make friends and have fun.
