Seichi and Seishin’s First-Ever Movie Experience – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle(劇場版「鬼滅の刃」無限城編)
Hi everyone! 🙂 Today was such an exciting day for us; we watched the movie Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle as a family. This was actually our very first time going as a family to see a movie. So it felt extra special. We watched the movie at Cinema 4 at Aeon Mall Hinode, 4:45 pm schedule.
We arrived at around 4:00 PM and luckily we found parking on the 4th floor, right near the cinema area on the 3rd floor. As we checked the cinema area, there were a lot of people waiting. The kids wanted to have some candy and experience the cinema popcorn-and-drinks vibe. We decided to make a quick stop at the grocery store, but the supermarket was on the other end of the building. Since we had time, it was fine to grab some candies. After that, we headed to the cinema. By then, we realized that the long line was for moviegoers ordering and picking up their popcorn and drinks. We thought that if we lined up, we might miss the start of the movie. With so many people in line, we decided not to buy anymore. Kids were a little sad, but they understood.
At the entrance, upon checking our reservation QR codes, they also gave us 4 pcs. of small foil-like card pouches giveaway from Kimetsu no Yaiba. Before we entered the cinema, we showed them the movie house rules. like no chit chatting, no taking photos and video recording, no kicking or pushing the front seat, mobile phone on silent mode, no bringing of food, etc.
Although the kids already know what the cinema looks like, a huge screen in a huge room 🙂 as they’ve seen a lot on TV, videos, and movies. But it’s about their own experience that makes a whole lot of difference 🙂 We entered the cinema before the actual screening began, around 4:50. The kids’ eyes were widened and they were so amazed, like saying yehey! We’re here. 🙂 then with a big giggling smile. We showed them how to find the cinema seats. The kids sat in the middle, between me and Daddy. Some movie ads and coming soon movie trailers were played. The movie started around 5:05-5:10 PM. This installment runs for about 155 minutes (roughly 2 hours and 35 minutes).
We’ve been following the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series and movies ever since, and Seichi also enjoys reading the manga, just like daddy, who loves to read manga books. There was even a time when I read the story in English online, and I really loved it. The story has so many beautiful lessons about love, family, friendship, sacrifice, anger, vengeance, kindness, bravery, resilience, acceptance, forgiveness, loyalty, hope and so much more. The scenes that made us cry were about Tanjirou and his family’s backstory and Rengoku Kyojuro’s passing, during our Netflix movie nights at home and most recent Akaza’s life and love story. Yes I was sobbing inside the cinema. Seichi also had a teary eyes.
The movie ended at around 7:30 PM, and the kids were still excited as we left the cinema. They had so much fun with their new experience. 🙂 Outside the cinema, kids took some photos with some Kimetsu no Yaiba designs, photo standees, and posters.
We then headed to the food court for dinner. Daddy and I had wanton ramen, Seishin had kids’ ramen set, while Seichi enjoyed soup and chaofan. We opened the Kimetsu no Yaiba giveaway; it was a cute bookmark with Kimetsu no Yaiba characters printed on it. Perfect for the kid’s manga books.
While driving back home, we talked about the movie, and I was asked about some parts of the story I didn’t fully understand since it was in Japanese and had no captions. Overall, we had a great family movie night together. We were already looking forward to the next movie and couldn’t wait to see it in the cinema again.
We were still excited as we went back home, and the kids enjoyed their very first movie experience. They had so much fun sharing this new adventure as a family.
